On Sunday we going Washington DC.  This Capital of of United States.

We getting invitation to going White House and meeting President Obama.

this very big honor for us, and we thanking all people at White House and all people at Pirates letting us doing this trip.

Sunday night we going Lisa maam for Indian Meal.  Food very good, and Lisa liking food we choosing.

After dinner, we getting lost going hotel and we walking at White House by accident.  We thinking first that this hotel, but Lisa maam telling us White House where President Obama living.   this very big house, so we thinking President Obama very rich, but JB sir telling us he not getting keeping house when he not president anymore.

Monday we going for special party at White House.  Many security at White House, stopping us 4 time we going in.  Pirates making special jersey that signing for President Obama.  They taking jersey at security, but Lisa maam saying they giving to special place for president.

We going in many room and taking picture with painting of many presidents.  We knowing President Clinton and President Bush.  All rooms having different color, like Red Room, Blue Room, and Green Room.

we meeting Nancy Pelosi.  She very important person in United States.  She very nice and talking with us and taking picture.  We also meeting Congressman Honda.  He also taking good picture with us.  We very surprised so many people important in United States wanting to meeting with us.  This is very big honor and we trying represent India very good.

Then President Obama coming and speaking to all group.  He talking about how we all in room representing Asia - Americans in very good way, and this making us proud.

After he speaking, President Obama coming and shaking our hands and saying that he nice to meet us.  This is very big honor.  We thinking unbelievable that we meeting President Obama.

In evening, we going reception DC United soccer team and AC Milan soccer team.  We meeting many soccer players.  we meeting best soccer player in World named Ronaldino.  Everyone treating us very good.

In Morning Tuesday, we eating breakfast with Kal Penn Modi.  He actor very famous in United States.  he having job working for White House, and he very good guy.  We talking him about movie he doing, and we really liking to meeting him.

This very big time for us, so we thanking all peoples helping this happen and giving us very big honor.

This week past i pitching good.

Breaking ball getting better now.  i pitching 1 & 1/3 inning yankees and i getting 2 strikeout and two fly out.  i giving no runs so this is good.

I hoping that i pitching good continue for Pirates.  Dinesh and me hoping we going forward this season, but we just trying our best all times.  All we can doing for this is trying best.

This week past, i pitching good in sim games and bull pen.  i thinking my speed getting good and my breaking ball also getting good.

Hello.

My arm was little sore from throwing when I get back USA.  I not throwing in india for long time, so I needing more time to loosen my arm.

This week, now arm good.  i throwing bull pens, and sim games.  I thinking end week I starting pitching game.

This is good.  i need pitching good.

Hello everyone.

We are now returning from our villages in India today.

The trip on plane was very long time, but we enjoying many movies.

We both enjoying our time with family back home but we now excited to be Pirate City and start throwing soon.

In village, life changing for us both very much.  when we getting home they having big parades for us, and many peoples coming seeing us to home.  We showing in many newspapers and TV News.  All our friends very happy for our success in USA.  they proud someone from village doing these things.

Our families going crazy when they seeing all the videos and the articles they doing in USA.  Dinesh’s mom seeing video he pitching and she very worried he hurting his arm.  We explaining many rules of the baseball and showing many things we seeing in the USA.

they are happy to see us living in very good place Pirates City, and we getting good chance here.

Many fans sending us emails during off season, but we not having internet in our villages, so we not getting your emails until we getting back today.

We both very happy to be back playing baseball.  In India, no one playing the baseball, so we only throwing a little for three months.  We feeling rested and we excited to joining team again here.

The boys returned home to their respective villages for the first time in almost 2 years…

They were greeted in each village by several thousand people and media, and received a real hero’s welcome.

Rinku was able to see the house that he built with his contest winnings for his family and Dinesh was able to build a real bathroom outhouse for his family, and also was able to buy them some farming land.

The boys asked us to thank all their fans, their teammates, the Pirates, the media, and MLB for the chance to play baseball.  It is an opportunity that has transformed not only their lives but also the minds and hearts of many young men in their villages…

For this they are truly grateful, and they look forward to getting back to Pirate City next February to continue their journey.

Rinku and Dinesh are trying to raise some extra money to bring back to their villages for their families.

As everyone has heard, they live in villages with no running water, telephone, electricity or plumbing, and their families work very hard as farmers to support themselves.

The boys’ goal is to help their families build new houses, and they also hope to build a baseball field in each of their villages for all the boys to play and train… And of course, every little bit helps.

100% of of what the boys make will go back to their villages, and one dollar is about 50 Ruppees in India.

The boys have asked me to thank all their fans for their support throughout their journey so far…  They love America, and they love the people they have met here.  They feel like this is a country where life is like a dream, and you can do anything.  They are grateful, and humbled at how they have been received by the team, league, players, media, companies, and fans everywhere!

They know they have a long way to go… but they promise to do their best to make their families and their countrymen back in India proud.

They have teamed up with Mounted Memories to make these historic signed items available for fans to be a part of this great baseball story…

The Boys Historic Timeline

Prior to February 2008 neither boy had ever seen a baseball or even heard of the sport.

March 2008, they are selected as winner of the first Million Dollar Arm Contest

May 5, 2008 - They begin to train at USC with legendary pitching Coach, Tom House

Nov 5, 2008 - Rinku and Dinesh have their first tryout in Arizona

Nov 24, 2008 - They both sign with Pittburgh Pirates

Feb 1, 2009 - They report to Pirate City

July 4, 2009 - They both pitch an inning, as Rinku became the first Indian to appear in a pro baseball game in the USA, and the following inning, Dinesh became the first Indian to strike out a batter (equivalent of taking a wicket in cricket).

July 13, 2009 - Rinku became the first Indian to record a Win in a pro baseball game

August 13, 2009 - Dinesh became the second Indian to record a Win in a pro baseball game
