If you don’t know much about Barry Bonds, let me tell you. He’s one of the hardest hitting batsmen in Major League and holds the record for the maximum homeruns. You can’t help but be in awe of his striking power and success. I happened to express my desire to be like him. Deepesh sir had some other thoughts though. He wants me to carve an identity of my own instead of trying to mimic another. There’s a fine line between emulating and copying I guess. And anyways, I am training to be a pitcher, so I can only emulate his success and hard work.

Deepesh sir has always had the right advice at the right moment. He’s treated us like his siblings and mentored us like a parent. He’s given us a lot of pep talk to boost our confidence when the chips were down. We aren’t sure what we are gonna do when he returns to India in August. What we are sure is that we’ll miss him dearly.
